Within a short drive, Costa Blanca North changes character several times. Altea feels cultured and architectural. Calpe is practical and energetic. Moraira is discreet and deliberately small-scale.

Altea: views, culture and hillside privacy

Altea suits buyers who want a sense of place rather than a conventional resort. The old town brings galleries, restaurants and a strong visual identity; the hills above the coast offer privacy and long sea views. The trade-off is topography: access, orientation and driving time deserve careful attention.

Calpe: convenience without giving up the sea

Calpe combines dramatic landscape with year-round infrastructure. Daily life is straightforward: supermarkets, medical services, schools, beaches and restaurants remain accessible beyond summer. Property varies widely, so the exact street and outlook matter more than the town name alone.

Moraira: restrained, polished and low-rise

Moraira appeals to owners who prioritise calm, a marina atmosphere and villas over urban density. It is sociable without feeling metropolitan. Supply in the strongest micro-locations is naturally limited, and buyers often need patience to find the right balance of walkability, privacy and sea view.

Our view: visit each location twice — once during the day and once at dinner time. A map explains distance; it does not explain atmosphere.

Choose the lifestyle before the property

Start with ordinary days: where you buy food, whether you walk to dinner, how often you need an airport, and whether a steep approach will still suit you in ten years. Once these answers are clear, the property search becomes smaller — and much better.
